REQUIREMENTS AND FEES
NOTEBOOK
1. Notebooks will be maintained by each member of the class. This requires accurate note taking on the part of the student. Some handouts will be available to supplement detailed note taking. Students will take notes covering all subjects presented.
2. The notes recorded are to be of such quality and logical arrangement that the trainee will be able to refer to them and recall the text of the class. They will be particularly beneficial for study at exam time.
3. All notes must be typed or legible handwritten. Notebooks will be subjected to weekly inspection and grading during the course. Notebooks will consist of completed study guides, written reports, handouts, daily log and class notes.
4. Information on the notebook construction, the table of contents, use of tab pages, etc. will be presented in class.
5. Notebooks will be graded according to quality and accuracy of notes, neatness, thoroughness, and the thought put into making up the notebooks.
Remember: Your notebook, if properly kept, will serve as an outstanding reference through your career.
CLASS PARTICIPATION
1. Each student will be expected to participate in all activities, working with other students, customers or trainers. The student will be required to work several different types of dogs, ranging from different breeds to different personalities.
2. Promptness, attendance, and personal conduct are included in the category of class participation, and the students will be graded accordingly. Each student's tardiness and / or absenteeism will be noted in the progress reports.
3. The maximum instructor to student ratio on any course is one to four.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
World K9 requires a personal interview with each student before enrollment. This interview will consist of an evaluation of the individual's knowledge of dogs, ability and willingness to train dogs and an overall interview of the individual's credentials.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
World K9 requires an overall attendance record of 90%. However, each student will be held accountable on the examinations for all instruction covered in his/her absence. There will be days that your attendance will be mandatory.
EXAMINATIONS
Examinations will be announced in advance and will be written objective or essay typed, matching, multi-choice, true or false or practical skills demonstrations.
GRADES
Grades will be given in each of the areas discussed: notebook, class participation, practical exercise and examinations. Grade averages will be determined from all work performed in the course.

Passing Grade of 80% is needed to complete the course.
SUPPLIES - EQUIPMENT NEEDED BY THE STUDENT
Training attire
Each student will be required to wear the proper clothing for all types of weather. The student should be prepared for: Rain, snow, hot and cold weather.
Note taking materials
1. Notebook binders and handout materials will be provided. The type of materials used is left to the discretion of the student. It is recommended that the student have several pens and reports in his/her possession to preclude unnecessary waste of time.
2. The student will have the use of all the training equipment needed to successfully complete his/her course. All equipment will be maintained in good working order and the student will have access to the equipment through out the training day. Any equipment that is not taken care of will result in the student replacing the equipment.
Training your personal dog
Any student wishing to train their personal dog through out the course may do so if that dog meets the requirements as stated below. All food and etc. will be supplied by the student. The student will have full responsibility of his/her dog at all times. If a student wants to train a personal dog through the course and does not have one, a student may purchase a dog from World K9. Students may enroll their personal dog in the course at any time however, the student will still be required to work with other dogs.
Requirements to enter a personal dog in the course
1. Must have all up-to-date shots.
2. Must be in good working condition: Health etc..
3. Must meet the training qualifications of the course.
4. Must be approved by the Instructor.
MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS
Personal Conduct
Conduct while in class and in the vicinity of the training facility or any training area while participating with World K9 will be carefully scrutinized. Each student will, at all times, demonstrate a level of professional conduct which is keeping with the expectation of the school. Areas of professional conduct which will receive constant attention and evaluation include:
1. Personal hygiene, appearance and demeanor.
2. Work habits, including organization of work, promptness and industry.
3. Dependability, such as the ability to perform and meet assigned work deadlines with out close supervision.
4. Cooperation and relationships with others.
5. Professional attitude.
Text Books
Students will be held accountable for the proper care and use of textbooks and other materials temporarily issued to them. Most materials are given to the student and becomes his/her own property; only on these materials are the student welcome to write notes or mark these materials as they wish.
Dormitory and Kitchen
Students that are enrolled into any course have the option of using the dormitory, kitchen and the washer and drier room. The student will be required to bring their own bath towels, washing soaps and etc.. Every student will be required to keep his/her rooms clean at all times. Student's will also keep the kitchen, bathrooms and study rooms clean. If these requirements are not kept up to standards disciplinary procedures will be taken.
COURSE FEES
Fees
The registration fee is to be paid in full in advance of the start of the training course. A student who is dismissed from the course for cause shall not be entitled to any refund, The student who withdrawals during the course shall be entitled to a refund as follows:
100% will be refunded before the start of class.
70% will be refunded at the completion of 5%.
60% will be refunded at the completion of 10%.
50% will be refunded at the completion of 15%.
After 20% of completion of the course no refund is returned.
Obedience and Kennel Management Course-----$4,500
This 250 hour course runs 10 hours a day five days a week for a total of 5 weeks. The student
will work many different dogs. Upon completion of these hours the student will be
Familiar with the training techniques of different attitudes.
Protection Course *-----$4,000
This 200 hour course runs 10 hours a day five days a week for a total of 4 weeks. The
student will work many different dogs. Upon completion of these hours the student will be
familiar with the training techniques of an agitator and of a handler. The student will know
the key points to look for when evaluating and training a protection dog.
Tracking Course* -----$4,000
This 200 hour course runs 10 hours a day five days a week for a total of 4 weeks. The
student will work many different dogs. Upon completion of these hours the student will be
familiar with the training techniques of a criminal and competition tracking.
*When Obedience and Kennel Management Course is taken with one of the other courses
certain study topics will not be necessary to be repeated. This would reduce the number of
hours of the second course and cost by 25%.
Police K-9 Course -----$7,000
This 600 hour course runs 10 hours a day five days a week for a total of 12 weeks. The
student will work many different dogs. Upon completion of these hours the student will be
familiar with police training techniques.
Narcotic Detection K-9 Course * $4,500
This 300 hour course runs 10 hours a day five days a week for a total of 6 weeks. The
student will work many different dogs. Upon completion of these hours the student will be
familiar with narcotic concealment and the characteristic of the narcotics.
* When Narcotic Detection K-9 Course is taken with Police K-9 Course certain study topics
will not be necessary to be repeated. This would reduce the number of hours of the Narcotic
Detection K-9 course and cost by 50%.
* Entrance requirements: Police K-9 Course / Narcotic Detection K-9 Course To be
considered for enrollment in Police K-9 Training or The Narcotic Detection Courses, a student
must contain a written letter from their local Police agency supporting their training
or submit to a Criminal History Report.
