All leather tracking harness that is not restrictive to the dog. This harness was designed with many features. It is very easy to put on and off with the quick release bolt snap that is on the girth strap. The front shoulder straps and the girth straps are adjustable for correct fit. The harness has the Dring in the top center backed with a padded leather plate. This way the harness rides on the center of the dog not sliding from one side to the other during tracking. The unique thing about this tracking harness is that there are two Drings on the underside strap of the harness. With these rings you can use a bottcher lead or run double leads on this harness or just use one lead. If you have a dog that does ground tracking and does not keep its head down to scent the track, then this harness will be a tool to help correct the problem. To use this harness for that purpose you string a lead through the two bottom Drings of the harness and then attach it to the dog’s collar. When the dog raises its head you have the option with that bottom lead of correcting it and tugging on the bottom lead forcing its nose back down to the ground.

This harness was designed with several issues being addressed. First of all it was designed so all the stress points of pulling are on the padded chest and padded back top. I would never want to bike having a lead attached to my dogs neck. That would be a recipe for injury. This would just be too much stress on the dog’s neck and the power of a dog pulling is in its chest not its neck. This harness is very easy to put on as it slips over the dogs head and has side release buckles on the sides of the girth strap. Both the girth and shoulder straps have adjusting slides to adjust for your dog’s size. There are no flopping hanging straps on this harness. The padded chest and top are not only sheepskin padded but felt lining is sandwiched between the fabric and sheepskin. The front of the dog is visible at night as the webbing running vertical on the chest is reflective. To attach the harness to the bike is a heavy welded D-ring. On top of the harness there is also a flashing LED light that can be removed if wanted. This is a motion activated light that can be turned off when not in use. This along with the reflective rod and reflective chest webbing are great night safety features to the Hundcycler.

I hook the pull tab through booth rings so as to keep the prong collar tight when working off lead. It still gives me the option of that quick correction should the dog need it.

Engraved Brass name plates are a nice compliment to a beautiful leather collar. These brass plates are not just square name plates but have either scalloped or bullet rounded corners. They come with two Chicago screws for mounting. If the name plate is purchased with a collar from us then we will mount it for you. Unless otherwise specified we will mount the name plate in the middle of the collar. Choose from two sizes. We recommend collar sizes of ½” or ¾” choose the 3/8” name plate and collar sizes of 1” or 1½” choose the 7/8” name plate. Both name plates are 2.5" in length. This Pull Tab Lead is 11” in length. This is a quality made heavy duty product. The Pull Tab lead made of double layered heavy nylon webbing and is triple sewn throughout. There is a large eye swivel bolt snap attached to the end. The large eye works well if you want to dead ring your prong collar. This swivel snap is large and easy to grasp for secure hooking on the collar. The loop has an opening of approximately 5.5”. This pull tab is stronger and lighter weight than our leather pull tabs. This is the type of pull tab I use because it is short enough that the dog does not get tangled up in when running. We have all heard the horror stories of a dog getting caught in their lead and breaking a leg. The pull tab can also be used when training a dog to work off lead. You can leave the pull tab on the collar while working off lead and if you need that quick correction it is short enough and close enough to you to have that quick response from your dog.
